Covid-19 Updates

November 19th, 2020

Dear New Hope Church,

"Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the Name of the Lord our God." (Psalm 20:7)

I want to communicate with you as we see cases of COVID-19 on the rise here on the Western Slope and in Delta County. I know of a handful of Cedaredge residents who now have COVID-19 and a number who have been exposed. As of this morning, Delta County has also officially moved to "yellow" on the COVID-19 dial, which means there are greater restrictions on church services, including being restricted to 50% seating capacity.

With these restrictions in mind there are a few things you should know: Children's church and nursery will not be open this Sunday (11/22/2020). Youth Group is also canceled. We do this out of a desire to keep kids and students safe. We love you and your children, and we look forward to being able to see them face-to-face as soon as possible!

With the rise in cases I would like to ask all of us to please do your part. We are asking everyone to commit to wearing a mask, and if you are able, please wear it during worship music as well. Please follow the guidelines for social distancing and wash your hands frequently. I realize this may not be your preferred way to worship- it is not mine. I (Dave) for one will be refraining from handshakes, hugs or other personal contact for you, for me and for my family's sake.

Know that God's still in control. Know that God's still got this. Trust in the Lord, lean not on your own understanding. Help those around you by doing your part. We will get through this. God is not wringing His hands wondering how we are going to get through this. So let's storm His throne, pleading for mercy, asking for wisdom and safety and level heads and calm hearts.

As a reminder, we are continuing to livestream our service on Facebook Live. Go to our Facebook page at 10:00 AM Sunday. Thank you Winona Keim for your continued faithfulness in this ministry. If you would like to join that team, please let me (Dave) know.

You are loved and prayed for! If you are in need of assistance through this, please let the office, an elder or myself know. We would be happy to help.

Warmly in Christ,

Dave Williams and the Elders of New Hope Evangelical Free Church
