Growing
Acts 2:42 tells us about the congregation of the first church – the church at Jerusalem, “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.”
In one powerful verse, God spells out the vital elements that make up the actual function and life of the church.
- God’s word is the basis of the church and life of every Christian. You can’t live out what you don’t know or understand. Each day do you devote time to study the bible and ask God to reveal his truths to you?
- Are you involved in church fellowship by lovingly and faithfully giving of your time and spiritual gifts?
- We eat and drink in remembrance of Christ’s self-sacrificing love that took Him to the cross. New Hope celebrates and administers communion the first Sunday of each month – will you join us?
- Lastly, believers persistently devote themselves to prayer. The Lord promises us in John 14:14, “If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.” Prayer is your direct, personal communication line to God. Have you humbly spoken and listened to Him today?
When our church follows God’s blueprint, He will do marvelous and awesome things through our congregation, in individual lives, and before a watching world.
